I left my BFF in Virginia....
Being a Military Wife, is tough, for so many reasons. One of which, every time we move, I not only leave friends behind, but I have to make new ones all over again. Something I am not the greatest at (you would think I would get better after 7 1/2 years, but no). I have always had a hard time making friends, I'm kinda shy and I am not good at approaching people.
I finally made a very good friend in VA. I have mentioned her a time or two on this blog. Our daughters were in the same class in Kindergarten. She is a former Military Wife, so she could totally relate to me which made us click pretty easily. I we quickly became friends. I hate that I had to leave her. Its not very often that you find a friend like that. We still keep in touch the best we can and I think we always will. It just sucks to have a Best Friend I cant hang out with anymore.

  1. I can't imagine. What a bummer.
I'd have a hard time too. When it's a crowd I know and am comfortable with, I am very outgoing. On occasion something gets into me and I can be outgoing with strangers too. But usually, if I don't know anyone, I'm the one in the corner "hiding" and praying the event (or whatever) ends soon!
At least we have phones and the internet now. Hang in there!

  1. I have Social Anxiety Disorder, so I am REALLY uncomfortable making friends. I also suffer from depression and PTSD, so I totally get where you are coming from. When I moved to Florida 5 years agok, I left my BFF in Connecticut. The day we left, she came over to say good-bye and I cried like a baby for over an hour... She passed away last year, and I cried all over again, so I really understand. It's great that you have a friend like that and try all you can to keep it, they are few and far between. I hope you find one in Hawaii, soon.
God bless you and your family for what you do, I know it is a sacrafice, and our family REALLY appreciates that you do it!!! :-)
