BUSTED.... Going 18 over...

So, yesterday I had to take Bobo to a Doctor appointment 30 minutes away at the nearby Military Hospital. It was only the second time I have left base without Hubby (if he is in the car, he is always driving) and the first time I went a different direction.
When driving off base the road becomes a major Highway. Right outside the gate the speed limit is 35 and a little further down the road it becomes 55. Lets just say, I sped up a little too soon.
Just a few blocks before the 55 speed limit sigh, two police officers were waiting for me (and a few other who made the same mistake I did).... BUSTED.....
It totally sucks, I am never going to live it down with Hubby, he never gets caught speeding. I was literally just a few blocks before the 55 zone. I sped up not realizing I had not passed the sign yet. My little mistake is going to cost me $147, I was going 53 when they got me....
Needless to say, I will be more careful from now on. And for the rest of my drive I was trying to be really conscious of my speed while all the other cars on the road are riding my bumper, cutting me off and zooming around me because I wasn't speeding like they were... Geez. I'm so mad...

Yikes that is expensive! Knock on wood I haven't gotten a speeding ticket since I was 18.

That is an expensive ticket! It's been a few years since I've gotten a speeding ticket.

Ugh, I'm sorry :-( I've had that happen in the past and I'm always so mad at myself. There is a section of road that I travel a lot that goes from being 55 to 40 and then back to 55 and the space in between is not that big -- but the cops really watch that area carefully. They catch a lot of people there who miss the section where they are supposed to slow down or who speed up too soon -- I'm so paranoid there!

ouch, that hurts. I know we have to really watch those signs.

Obviously, they sit there waiting to catch people... it is apparently a huge source of their income. I have never gotten a speeding ticket (knock on wood - or did I just jinx myself?). We have a 25mph limit through our community and the sheriffs sit hiddent to catch people around the time when school gets out and around 5:00 - 6:00 when people are getting home from work.
