Wordless Wednesday - Caterpillars

I never knew that caterpillars made webs... These are in our back yard...


Even though I know its not a spider web, still kinda creeps me out... I Googled it to find out what they were and I beleive there either a EASTERN TENT CATERPILLAR or a FALL WEBWORM both of which are harmless and wont do much damage to the tree.

I remember seeing those tents all over the pine trees by my house when I was a kid. I had forgotten all about them!

UGH! I think i would be creeped out too. Then what happens when they hatch? They are gonna eat your entire yard

Sometimes they get really huge, too! We have them in our oak trees around here and they're kind of creepy!

WOW! those ones are so big. We have a couple of of these in our trees but they are nowhere near that big. Oh, I'm a new follower BTW. I like you site!

When I was a kid we called them tent worms. They are pretty gross and can kill your trees so you might want to find out how to get rid of them. Have a wonderful day!

Ah yes, we've had those in our yard too. Cool, but kinda creepy. The kids love them though.

We've had something similar. The one's we had are gypsy moths. Not sure if that is what you have.
